As the first woman Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon in Colorado Springs, Dr. Rebecca Facy has spent the past 16 years providing exceptional care to patients of all ages. Dr. Facy practices full-scope oral and maxillofacial surgery and stays current on emerging concepts and surgical technologies by taking advanced continuing education courses locally and all over the world.
In 2018 Dr. Facy founded CoMax (Colorado Maxillofacial & Oral Surgeons), a vibrant practice focused on the patient experience. In addition to being a leader in comfort and compassion, the office boasts the latest digital technology and a design award-winning sleek modern vibe. At CoMax, even the most nervous of patients can truly relax in the care of compassionate doctors and enthusiastic staff. CoMax also ensures maximum comfort by offering intravenous sedation for procedures.
This past year Dr. Facy expanded her practice with the addition of an associate surgeon and is excited to introduce Dr. Margarita Varer. Dr. Varer grew up in New York where she obtained her degree in Cell and Molecular Biology at the State University of New York at Binghamton before studying dentistry at the State University of New York at Buffalo. Oral and maxillofacial surgery is the intersection of medicine and dentistry, therefore Dr. Varer earned her MD and completed a general surgery internship at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she also completed her Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency.
In addition to performing procedures such as dental extractions, bone grafts, and implants Dr. Varer maintains credentials at local hospitals to treat facial trauma and perform a wide range of complex surgeries. Together Dr. Facy and Dr. Varer perform life-changing corrective jaw surgeries (orthognathic surgery) and dentofacial orthopedic surgeries for growth modification.
Outside of the office, Dr. Facy and Dr. Varer are members of multiple regional study clubs and enjoy interacting with their colleagues to solve complex cases. Dr. Facy is a mother to three children and an avid cross-stitcher. Many of her complex and beautiful creations can be admired decorating the CoMax office. In her free time, Dr. Varer loves exploring the natural beauty of Colorado. As a hiker and lover of equestrian sport, Dr. Varer has truly found her home here in Colorado Springs.
