Dr. Kate Colvin grew up in Monument, Colorado and graduated from Lewis Palmer High School.  As the daughter of two dentists, she grew up hearing about all about dentistry and knew, from a young age, it was something she wanted to pursue.  She studied Biology at the University of Kansas and then stayed in the Midwest to attend dental school at the University of Nebraska College of Dentistry in Lincoln. After graduation, she worked in Nebraska, then she and her husband returned to Colorado in 2015.  She is fortunate to own Colvin Tao Family Dental with her mom, Dr. Clara Tao and practice with their associate, Dr. Ben Miettunen.

In our family practice dental office, it is our goal to provide excellent dentistry in a caring and professional environment.  Dr. Kate enjoys all aspects of dentistry, with cosmetic dentistry being her very favorite.  We see patients of all ages and encourage it to be a family affair.  Many families have been with Colvin Tao Family Dental spanning multiple generations. It is especially rewarding getting to know patients and making those personal connections.  We have an exceptionally kind and caring staff and use the latest technologies and techniques to ensure each patient has a great experience when they visit our office. 

On her days off, Dr. Kate stays busy with her husband and their three children.  Her favorite hobbies include traveling, hiking, skiing, volunteering at her children’s elementary school, watching sports, running and spending time with friends and family. 

Dr. Kate is a member of the Colorado Dental Association, the American Dental Association, the Colorado Springs Dental Society and Spear Study Club.
