Red Leg Brewing Company
Todd Baldwin is passionate about serving those who serve. On July 4, 2013, Baldwin, a retired Army field artillery officer, founded Red Leg Brewing Company to provide the highest quality beer to honor the men and women who currently and formerly served in the U.S. Military. The selection is varied and delicious.
Longing for a light lager? Springs Lite fits the bill. “We call it the all-day crusher type beer,” Baldwin says, “because you can sit around and sip it all day long and feel good.” The HAZY India pale ale is also a big seller. With its citrus and floral notes, it is smooth, not bitter like some IPAs. For an award-winning brew, try the Howitzer amber ale. It’s won both gold and silver medals at the Great American Beer Fest. You’ll enjoy its distinct caramel flavor and pleasing malty finish.
This architect’s rendering shows Red Leg Brewing Company’s new $10 million brewery, taproom, food court, and outdoor event center—the first of its kind in Colorado Springs.
In addition to brewing great beer, Red Leg is committed to giving back to the community—from Red Leg’s Cannon Crew that takes on volunteer projects like cleaning parks and building houses to partnering with America’s Fallen, an organization that helps children of service members who have been killed on duty.
And now, eight years after opening Red Leg Brewing, Baldwin is excited to announce the opening of a new $10-million brewery, taproom, food court, and outdoor event center at 2323 Garden of the Gods Road, just a stone’s throw from the Garden of the Gods.
This first-of-its-kind, 14,000-square-foot facility includes a brewery and taproom with a rooftop deck overlooking the front range, a 670-seat event space, and 11 different local vendors serving everything from pizza to burgers.
“I’m thrilled to be able to showcase some of the great things going on in the Springs,” Baldwin says, “and to get a chance to work on my dream every day.”
