Dr. Christopher Taylor is a board certified general surgeon and fellowship-trained colorectal surgeon at Colorado Springs Surgical Associates (CSSA). He specializes in benign and malignant pathology of the colon, rectum, and anus. Utilizing the most up-to-date technologies, he performs the majority of his cases with advanced laparoscopic and robotic surgery. His goal is to provide patients with a clear understanding of their diagnosis and establish a patient and family-centered treatment plan.

Dr. Taylor is the Director of Colorectal Surgery with CSSA and leads the only Rectal Cancer Center of Excellence in the state of Colorado. Unfortunately, rectal cancer care across the country is variable and typically performed at low volume centers. As a center of excellence, patients are a part of the multi-disciplinary team that utilizes the most up to date standards for the treatment of rectal cancer to improve survival and decrease recurrence. 

Dr. Taylor was born and raised in Florida. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science in biology and minors in both chemistry and business. He earned his medical degree at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and went on to complete his general surgery training at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX. During his chief year, he was elected Administrative Chief Resident by his peers. Dr. Taylor completed his colorectal surgery training at the Utah Healthcare Institute/St. Mark’s Hospital in Salt Lake City, UT.
