Kimberly Maher

Kimberly Maher is an award-winning trial lawyer and one of Colorado’s most trusted advocates for individuals accused of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault. Known for her empathy, precision, and fearlessness in the courtroom, Kimberly stands ready to help good people through the hardest moments of their lives.

Kimberly grew up around the world—a vantage point that sparked her fascination with American law, civic life, and the power of a strong legal system. After graduating from Purdue with a bachelor’s in political science, she moved to Washington, D.C., taking an entry-level job in a congressional office. What began with answering phones quickly evolved into policy research and ultimately hands-on work on higher-education legislation. After two years in that role, she received the same advice from her colleagues and family: stop working for lawyers—become one. She returned to Colorado and earned her law degree from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, where she joined the Student Trial Lawyers Association and later served as its President.

Before co-founding Maher & Maher Law PC, Kimberly spent five years as a Deputy District Attorney in two Colorado jurisdictions. She handled some of the toughest cases in the system—murder, stalking, kidnapping, fraud, burglary, and high-stakes domestic violence matters. As a former prosecutor, she believes deeply in safe communities balanced with real accountability on the government’s part.

Today, as a defense attorney, Kimberly has secured multiple not-guilty verdicts for clients facing decades in prison. She understands the fear and uncertainty her clients experience and advocates relentlessly to protect their rights, their dignity, and their futures.

Kimberly lives in Colorado Springs with her husband, Joe, and is the proud mother of four wild little boys who keep her laughing, grounded, and always on the move.
