Dr. Melanie Stickrath

Dr. Melanie Stickrath is the medical director of Pikes Peak Hospice & Palliative Care, and a board-certified physician in both Internal Medicine and Hospice & Palliative Medicine. With nearly 20 years of experience caring for adults with serious and complex illnesses, she is dedicated to helping patients and families navigate challenging healthcare decisions with compassion, expertise and respect for their individual goals and values.In her role as medical director, Dr. Stickrath provides clinical leadership and medical oversight for hospice and palliative care services across the organization. She leads the provider team and partners closely with interdisciplinary clinicians to ensure the delivery of exceptional, patient-centered care. Her approach emphasizes expert symptom management, clear communication and care that promotes comfort, dignity and quality of life.Dr. Stickrath is proud to serve at Pikes Peak Hospice & Palliative Care, Colorado Springs’ only community-based, nonprofit hospice organization. For more than four decades, the organization has provided compassionate end-of-life care and support to patients and families throughout the Pikes Peak region. Pikes Peak Hospice & Palliative Care is also the only hospice in the area to offer General Inpatient (GIP) hospice care in a freestanding care center, ensuring that patients with complex symptom management needs have access to specialized, around-the-clock care in a dedicated hospice setting.Recognized as one of Colorado Springs’ Top Doctors in Hospice and Palliative Medicine, Dr. Stickrath is passionate about advancing awareness and understanding of hospice and palliative care.
