Tom Meister grew up in Omaha, part of a large extended family with over 60 first cousins. He held a variety of jobs as he worked his way through school and appreciates the importance of hard work and pride in one’s work. Despite the pulse-pounding, nonstop excitement that the field of mathematics offered, he elected to go to medical school and has trained in Omaha, Philadelphia, St. Louis, and Lexington, KY, before finding the beautiful town of Colorado Springs. He still cheers ardently for the Cornhuskers of Nebraska but is proud to call Colorado Springs home.

Tom feels lucky to be surrounded by seven other excellent gastroenterology providers who share his passion and philosophy for medical care. Listening to the patients, hearing their concerns, and understanding their plight are the most critical aspect of gastroenterology care. The value that the patients bring to a physician’s life cannot be underestimated, and Tom and his partners respect this by trying to bring value to patients’ lives.

Endoscopy procedures can be onerous and terrifying, but these feelings can be lessened with confidence in a physician and humor at work. We at GACS have introduced measures to allow comfort before and after a procedure, including heated blankets, neck wraps, and special drinks as a treat! GACS strives to ensure patients getting a procedure receive the same warm care that we would want for our family.
